Anti-intellectualism is practically the entire history of America, Lisa. The intellect is only valued for its pragmatic achievements, e.g. technology. Other than that, it has, at best, been tolerated. Things only appear worse now because pretense is being discarded. Now we have a rising generation that worships technology. What is coming will really be worse. :)
