Brautigan was a funny guy. I knew him a little in SF in the early 70s. Used to buy him beers at Thomas Lord’s on Union Street. He was at his peak, but even then, he was a stone alcoholic. I still enjoy his work and occasionally reread it. A Confederate General In Big Sur is a hilarious novel. I wish more people knew it and his other work.
