Even in America, the demand for dental perfection is less than 50 years old. In my high school class of around 200 in 1969, I can only remember, perhaps, five kids who had braces. Compare that to now. I have often wondered what this mania for perfection says about the American character, if such a thing exists. I still can’t figure it out for sure.
