I have read Homer so often and for so long he has become a part of me, and informs all my reading and writing.

The interesting thing about the Odessey is the question of identity. Odysseus lies to everyone throughout, even when it’s not necessary. In Book 19, no one, characters, readers, even the author, seem to know where they stand or who they are. It is an amazing feat, ambiguity in every line.

Crafty indeed.
