I think there is a place for poetry about politics, until it becomes preachy and polemic, then you are better off writing your congressman. In poetry, the political is best approached obliquely, not head on. If you bind it to a specific event, you have already killed it. Still, sometimes I can’t resist the call. See my Politics, but it is an anti-political poem. I wish you the best in this and am looking forward to seeing what you find.
