I understand that academics play for high stakes in terms of influence on students and “official” culture, the influence that they misuse to create identity politics, as well as race and gender hatred. I get that they have polluted the minds of many Millennials with these poisons. I don’t see that changing soon.

The joke is that inside the departments, there isn’t much pie to cut up. For most, it’s a dreary life of repetitive classes and endless ass kissing. Imagine spending 30 years teaching kids who could not give a shit the differences among there, their and they’re. Now imagine how tempting the taste of a 12 Gauge shotgun barrel might be. :)
