In Vietnam, a light infantryman needed a uniform, boots, a helmet, food, water, a rifle and ammunition. This is the Russian version of what a heavy infantryman now has. Check out the link to see what all it involves.

The future is better weapons, not more men. This gear would have been considered miraculous in 1969. Now it’s here. The days of cannon fodder are over. We need smart weapons and smarter soldiers. Battles will be more like big fire fights than conventional battles. Short and intense.

That’s why DT is wrong. Spend money on works; not what used to work.
