It is based on an incident that I witnessed, but it is fiction. Sadly, the real event didn’t end the way the story does. The narrator is not me. I did work with/for the CIA and I did meet the real life Ian, but this is not autobiographical. I wasn’t an officer and I didn’t serve two tours.
