JD: Thanks for the mention. I must say that I am only one of the poetry people, not “the poetry guy.” Medium has many good poets and many budding poets. My advantage, if it is an advantage, is having a lifetime’s head start on them.

You are probably right about the niche issue. Ninety eight percent of what I write is poetry, so readers know what to expect. But that wasn’t a strategy, just what I write.
