Just Get On With It

These fragments I have shored against my ruins.

Dark hollows of the wind.
A voice emerging from silence.
Be an actor writing theater.
Ears should never deceive dreams.
Listen to the exquisite music within.
Never say: Tomorrow. I will tomorrow.
Compose your tunes in the present.
Patience flowers only in the tomb.
No one becomes a writer tomorrow.
Time is no ally of poetry, no friend.
Take from others, but return it better.
You cannot but be; sing concords of delight.
Accept the signs the gods have raised,
those hot flames of the spirit.
Sing your songs in the now. Hurry.
Say your say out loud without fear.
Death is always the nearest near.
