Thank you for responding.
Millennial bashing is futile and misses the point, but it cuts both ways. Every day I see articles about “angry, old, white men” (read Baby Boomers). Generational antagonism is probably inevitable. It is a convenient shorthand for talking about larger issues without really addressing them.
I don’t see individual Millennials as the problem or as a disease. I see them as symptoms of cultural change and malaise. They embody the culture of their time, as generations always have.
Culture shifts have never been popular with older people. Makes them feel like the world is being pulled out from underneath them. Hence, the resentment and scorn.
The Sixties were not a Golden Age. There has never been a Golden Age. There never will be. There are only human beings trying to figure out how to live now.
And, Ms Ivy, as Dylan also said: You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.
