My kids escaped the Iraq War and Afghanistan. My oldest desperately wanted to be a chopper pilot, but (thank gods) is color blind. The younger wanted nothing to do with either at all.

What do you say to your kids? You can’t simply say don’t go. They are adults. You can tell them just how bad war can be, based on your own experiences. I guess that’s about it.

Also, America will always legitimately need soldiers. Someone has to go. How to deal with that? Again, I don’t know.
