No one ever comes home. Not as the same person to the same home. I’ve seen many who served in Vietnam and survived the war come home to die of suicide, substance abuse, and generally reckless, risky behavior. You can take the boy out of the jungle, but it’s damned hard to take the jungle out of the boy.
