marble laws of Man.
Self-help programs don’t
dispel your emptiness.
Sex alone, not enough.
The constructs of religion
can’t abide your dreams.
God is a disinterested third party
waiting to be approached,
not caring if she is or isn’t.
Submit to the vacuum
of your heart at four a.m.
Surrender to the void
that only love can fill.
Drink deeply; hold tight.
Dawn must come.
