slip sliding away…

Things slip swiftly out of kilter.
Some days you feels as if
something terribly important
has suddenly been lost;
an island, your best sunglasses,
a friend you’ve never met:
the Crown Jewels, sanity,
or perhaps your way home.

You look backward and forward,
yet find nothing but
shadows and reflections. You
are alone without clothes or money.
No one can help you with your search.
It’s beginning to feel weird:
It is strange but exhilarating.
An altering architecture gains appeal,
and he sun watches your every move
as its light fall in a yolky wedge.
But then the feeling disappears
and you are caught once more
in the normal normal of normal.
